Have EZdrummer 3 and purchased a couple of midi packs. Went install them and got the following:
“Installer.app” needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.
Now what? Already bought and paid for. Thank you.

Download and install the Toontrack Product Manager then install your MIDI packs from Product Manager and that should work.

Thanked by: friis1978Appreciate the reply, Brad. Already have the the PM installed. Downloading was easy – it’s actually getting them to “install” that’s the hangup. Is this an Apple thing / Toontrack thing? 32 vs 64 bit? Can’t move forward. Have British Invasion Grooves, etc..
Will reinstalling the PM cause me to loose everything I already own? Thank you!

Hi there
when you press “install” from PM you get the message about updating the installer app?
Reinstall of PM shouldn’t cause you to lose your stuff.

Hi –
I am having exactly the same issue – with a twist –
In Product Manager, I try to update libraries, get a message during install that “one or more required files are missing – the format of this EZX on disk is not compatible with this update. Please reinstall the EZX before applying the update.”
When I try to reinstall (from the Product Manager) I get the error: “Installer” needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.
I upgraded EZ Drummer 2, which turns out not to be compatible with my computer – is this the issue and can I revert to an earlier version?
Do i need to remove EZ drummer and reinstall, what?
Am on OS: Catalina 10.15.7 (iMac, 28 gig RAM, 1 TB drive)
Please reinstall the EZX before applying the update.
Hey Frank, In this case, I’d recommend that you delete the old EZX manually from your sound library folder and then install it again by clicking the red “Install Product” button in Product Manager.
Nashville EZX is one of the older libraries that may have the older format on your computer. Which ones are you getting the issue with?
The Nashville EZX folder can be removed from (the default location) Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > EZDrummer and the name of the folder is EZX_Nashville

Hi Petter-
I reinstalled EZ Drummer (version ) and have as said attempted to reinstall the specific library/plug ins –
Now, after uninstalling EZ Drummer, ad downloading the installation package, I get the same error message.
It sounded like you tried to reinstall via Product Manager, but it is important in this case that you uninstall the old version manually. Did you manually delete the EZX folder (in our example EZX_Nashville) before trying to install via Product Manager again? Which EZX are you trying to reinstall?
When you install via Product Manager after you have deleted the EZX from disk, make sure that you use the installer directly via Product Manager and not by opening the DMG archive. You should get a red Install Product or Download Product button.

Hi again –
deleted everything, restarted, reinstalled – seems to be downloading, installing, and updating as it should now.
