Do you have the CPU setting in the S3 Settings Performance Tab set to something other than 1? If so, try it on 1.

Same result in S3 Standalone or only when you’re using it in Studio One?

In addition, do you get the same result in Studio One when you set the CPU setting in S3 to 2?

It’s the performance Meter in Studio One that maxes out into the red when I use SD3.

It is both random and when I am working in SD3 in Studio One like clicking in the GUI..

If i remove SD3 the problem is gone.

I have removed all VST effects and only have SD3.

I’ll forward this thread to support as I don’t have any first hand experience with Studio One.

Could it be the auto-save feature in SD3 that causes it?

If I stop Studio One and just run SD3 within Studio One it still happens.

As an example when I change grooves there is often ( But NOT always ) a sudden CPU spike in the performance monitor and a distorted sound.

    Hi there

Have you opened ther Studio One device manager to verify it’s SD3 that’s spiking?

Can you make sure that Studio One > Preferences > General Tab: Enable graphics hardware acceleration is deselected (not selected)

In the SD3 plug-in running in Studio One goto: Settings > Performance: Make sure Number of CPU cores is 1

In addition to Brad’s post, you might want to check your buffer size. Lower buffer sizes mean your system has to work harder.
