    Hi,

while you can indeed start from an empty kit/room and just add the individual instruments and kit parts from an EZX, I suspect (at least part of) what you are after is simply to reveal all mixer channels.

Load the EZX preset in SD3 and then go to the Mixer page. Right next to the ‘Edit Visibility’ button is a smaller button which you can click to reveal hidden channels with audio.
Now, if the preset in question does not have certain microphones separated and this is what you are after, like e.g. Snare mics or Tom Mics, you can either:

    • Start from a preset that has got the microphone/mixer setup you are aiming for and Replace/Import the kit pieces you want
    • Right-click e.g. a Tom and go to ‘More > Route Instrument Microphones…’ then click the ‘Close’ microphone Mixer Channel drop-down and select ‘Create New Channel’.
If you want to split out several instruments to separate new channels, you do not need to leave this window, just select the kit piece in question in the drop-down to the right.
This/these new channel/channels can be renamed in the Mixer for easier recognition and also moved to where you wish them to appear. In this example, you also might want to ‘Hide’ the visibility of the now unpopulated ‘Toms’ Mixer channel, which is done by clicking the ‘Edit Visibility’ button

    I hope this helps,
    John
