I have both Superior Drummer 3 and EZ Drummer 3. I’ve used Superior Drummer 3 for several years but now that I’ve heard EZ Drummer 3 I’m thinking about switching. I typically place the drums on a single track and route that track to a buss. Can I do the same thing with EZ Drummer 3? I really love the sound coming from EZ Drummer 3. What am I giving up by leaving Superior Drummer 3?
SD3 offers more control over the drums themselves and has more ambience channels and bleed, where EZD3 is more mix-ready and has a lower footprint. If EZD3 is more of what you are looking for as far as the sound goes, use it. If you like the sound and want more control over the drums themselves, you can load the EZD3 library into SD3 and tweak things there. I use both and enjoy the options.

I have both also but I don’t have SD3 installed. For me personally, SD3 is option paralysis. It’s great, works really well, but it’s just TOO MUCH 😉 So now I just use EZD3 and that is that.
