Changing the Tempo

The default temp is 120. I want to easily change it to 80. How can I do that? I see the tempo at the bottom and it takes me into an editor. I move the tempo to 80 and but when I check the tempo with my app on the iPhone called tempi, it stays at 120. Why so hard?

BEST ANSWER
When using a DAW, the DAW controls the tempo.

I am using Studio One Artist. Hmmm, I have never had the issue before because all my instruments have not been virtual. I found it under tempo. 😉
