Big fan of EZD3, but i’m still practicing the basics having come from NI Battery, Spectrasonics Stylus, and Logic Pro’s native drums; this morning I was trying to find where the ‘One Shot’ Cowbell is assigned to in Logic Pro’s ‘Piano Roll’ edit window, only to find that ‘Drum Names‘ (Piano Roll / View/ Drum Names) is greyed out. In addition I don’t see any relative note values assigned to drum instruments inside EZD’s ‘Grid Editor’.
I THINK that means the only way to verify which ‘note’ the cowbell is assigned to is by trial and error running through the eight octaves and relying on your ear.
Surely I am wrong, someone please tell me I am wrong!
Drum names only work for Drum kit designer, Drummer and Ultrabeat. A work around for me was in Midi environment create a mapped instrument and drag it into summing folder for your EZDrummer tracks. You will have to set all the names in the mapped instrument (A little time consuming), but you can save the project as a template.
