The new EZdrum 3 and EZbass format both are awesome . Please give us the same ability with EZ Keys . Is it in the works?
+100 for this! I am loving the upgrade to EZD3 and it would be a dream come true if an EZKeys update were to come out next! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

Thanked by: Karsten P., Laroidx and John VaughanLet’s all face it guys, Toontrack is aware that we have been begging for an update for years. EzKeys has been out for a decade. They don’t care. EzKeys is not a priority for them. They throw us a bone from time to time, and give us an expansion pack here and there, with some more MIDI packs to play with. But never a new numbered version.
Let’s just address the elephant in the room. They aren’t working on EzKeys 2. At all. You know it, I know it, they know it. And they don’t care how you feel about it. I know that because they have in ten years never said one word about it. I know, I know, Toontrack doesn’t talk about products they are working on, blah, blah, blah. That’s corporate speak for, “we ain’t doing sh*t all, and we don’t feel like we should have to explain anything to you, now shut up and buy what we will give you.”
That’s where we stand. Toontrack doesn’t care about EzKeys or it’s users. If they did, they wouldn’t have waited a DECADE to still say NOTHING. I wish they would sell the code for EzKeys to someone who will develop it. I mean we have all given them a laundry list of things we would like to see for a new version. But Toontrack can’t even be bothered to just give us an update that lets us resize the GUI for a 1440p monitor. You don’t need a whole numbered upgrade to do that much. They could have dropped that into a plain old update on the product manager.
I almost wish they would just discontinue EzKeys if they aren’t gonna sell it or develop it. At least then we would have a definitive way to show that they don’t really care about EzKeys. Have you ever counted up the number of Toontrack releases since EzKeys first came out?
Superior Drummer 3 and various expansion packs for it
EzDrummer 2 and a whole slew of expansion packs for it
EzDrummer 3 and 1 new expansion less than a month later!
EzMix 2 and a truckload of expansion packs for it (but is also due for an upgrade and a resizable GUI)
EzBass and nine expansion packs for it
Not to mention an absolutely staggering amount of MIDI packs for all three of their instruments.
And in all that time, not even once has Toontrack showed any interest in giving us any news about EzKeys.
Somebody from Toontrack should reply here…

Thanked by: TkearneyoneI think the GUI of EZKeys was top notch back in the days of Windows 95.
Working with EZKeys is fun … NOT, so not fun that I hate to open the instrument in Cubase.
Superior Drummer 3
EZBass
EZKeys 2
Cubase 13 Pro
iMac 27" 2019 (macOS Monterey)
I am not sure they don’t care. EZKeys was ground breaking and is still relevant to work with, but an upgrade would sell by the bucket load. When we screamed for bass to go with we got it and then with EZ Drummer Bandmate added they all work really well. I suppose they can only do so much R&D at one time. I would however love to see a much bigger interface in line with the other product updates. Where EZKeys is lacking is that it is great if you start with midi from EZKeys but it is difficult to take it the other way i.e. I find midi to work with an existing track even if created with Ezdrummer/Bass but more often when I write on guitar. Yes you can buy the matching packs but that really only scratches the surface of the possibilities and constrains you to only their matching packs. A bit of AI could add SO MUCH to your workflow IF Toontrack were to upgrade Ezkeys. Come on Boys and Girls make us happy
Right now EZ Keys is the last VI that’s still not compatible with Cubase 12 on an M1 mac. The M1 update for EZ Keys came out over a year ago. All I want is a VST3 update. I really don’t think that will require an entirely new version.
I agree with others that I won’t invest any more money in expansion packs for Keys or any other other Toontrack product unless and until this is resolved. There are too many other ways to spend my hard earned cash.
So if you care at all Toontrack then chop chop. VST3!!
I came to the TT site to send in a support request to update EZK. But after reading this thread…..
EZK needs an updated UI. It needs the Grid Editor tab that EZB and EZD3 have. It needs the Add Track feature found in EZB and EZD3. Those are the minimum.
It doesn’t need a “Band Mate” feature. Nor a “Tap to Find” feature.
Ain’t asking for much really.

Well, given EZKeys (and EZMix) are both VST2 and Cubase gave every developer 2 years notice last January, then this product will be dead sometime in 2024, unless they release EZKeys 2 or release a VST3 version of it.
Shame since it is a useful product, which I use a lot.

Thanked by: TkearneyoneThanks for link @Keith Messier. That gives me hope for EZKeys to incorporate Temp and Time signatures in EZKeys as well as maybe a resizable GUI.
