    Hi,

no, you can install ezd3 and then deinstall 2.

    To clarify,

you do not need EZdrummer 2 installed on a system to install EZdrummer 3.

You cannot register an EZdrummer 3 upgrade to your account unless you have a registered EZdrummer 2 license, that’s all.

And just to clarify another point: since I have EZD2 (and want to keep using it), do I choose EZDrummer 3 Upgrade in the Product Manager (and NOT choose the EZD3 Core Library install)?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

The EZD3 Core Library is separate from the EZD2 core library and installing it won’t impact EZD2 or your core library. IMO the EZD3 core library is well worth installing.

You’ll want the Core Install, it has all the percussion, drum parts and kits that come with EZD3.

I’m searching the forums to find how to get all the kits since EZD1 for a fresh install on a new computer I built.
I may need to send a ticket lol. Silly though, this should be easy to find. I like one time installs, so I’m stuck for now.

    Hi there,

Are you installing your samples to an external drive on your new system? What I have done to maintain the integrity of my sample library is to copy the entire existing folder to the new location. For example if you have a standard install your old computer should have all the samples installed to; C:/Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Toontrack/EZDrummer

Copy C:/Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Toontrack/EZDrummer (in it entirety) to the new computer/drive. Install just the EZD3 software. Start it up and it should complain it can’t find the sample library and give you a button to browse to the location of it.

Hi Brad, yes I’m wanting to install on my new build.
Also avoid AAX as I don’t use Protools, and select sample location. Which hopefully happens during the Core3 install. lol

I understand the Sample move, most apps allow to designate sample location from the menu. I use 6 drives on the new computer, and had 5 on the prior computer which has worked great for over 10 years now lol.
And I’ll be keeping it up for quite a while yet. I always leave the computer with its software lol. Thousands spent lol. I just build another and install current stuff in use. Eventually I won’t get on the older one, so I’ll retire it properly in case I need to use it.

This post explains better what I’m looking for. Actually just posted a process a little bit ago. Probably start in the morning.

    Hi Rosario,

EZdrummer 3 is VST 3 only and Reason cannot (yet) load VST 3 plug-ins.
