You don’t need EZD2 installed to use the EZD3 upgrade.

If you want the EZD2 sound library and MIDI without EZD2 installed you can install the EZdrummer 2 Core Library EZX that should be in your Toontrack account. This contains the EZD2 sounds library and MIDI.

If you have DAW projects that contain EZD2 and want them to load properly in the future, you may want to keep EZD2 installed because EZD3 won’t take its place in those projects. EZD3 is its own plugin.

After uninstall of EZD2 i fired up EZD3 and tried to load my Nashville kit, the software crashed and gave me a dmp file. (Attached.)

I installed EZD2 Core again, no luck same result. If i try o load Metal machine i dont see the kit, only the stands and tripods. No crash, but annoying.

I think the EZD2 uninstallation on Windows removes graphics from certain EZXs, so that you will have to reinstall those EZXs to fix the issues.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Nashville EZX and the Metal Machine EZX.

Just did, works great! Thanks! I had a bit of a hard time finding the uninstallation procedure for each package, but then it went fine.

I’ve got somewhat of a similar issue to straighten out. After a reinstall of the operating system and Logic Pro X, I downloaded the product(s) and related updates(s) for the products I purchased from within the Toontrack Program Manager to reinstall them. I’m wondering if I did something cement-headed and installed them in the incorrect order or related, as I read thru this post I discovering that I only needed to install EZD3 and the EZD2 Core Library EZX. As EZD3 currently works, however it appears the EZD2 and the Progressive Fusion MIDI Pack are missing and/or grayed out (disabled?)… most likely indicating library paths or something similar. Questions are :

    • Should I just uninstall all the EZD2 related software and Prog MIDI Pack, then just the reinstall EZD2 Core Library & Progressive Fusion MIDI Pack?
    • Should I uninstall everything and reinstall EZD3, EZD2 Core Library & Progressive Fusion MIDI Pack in a specific order?

I’d just like to get this ironed out correctly, so I don’t really have any issue uninstalling & reinstalling what’s required.

Any/all assistance and input would be greatly appreciated!

Utilizing the following : EZDrummer v2, EZDrummer v3 Update, Mac Mini w Mac OS 12.7.1 (Monterey), Logic Pro X 10.7.9

    Hi Glenn,

the order shouldn’t matter. You could uninstall the EZD2 software package and reinstall the EZD2 Core Library as you wrote.
I am a bit puzzled by the ‘greyed out’ part, though. When you have re-installed, could you please post a screen shot of what you mean?

    Hey John…

When carefully looking over what product’s are installed in the Product Manager. and the related Updates information, etc, I got a better understanding of things. I determined all I really needed to do was uninstall the EZD2 installation, leaving the EZD2 Core Library in place. I got mildly confused because there wasn’t an ‘uninstall’ link on Installation Info tab of EZD2, but I found the uninstall utility on the Downloads tab on the apps Update button (verify/download again – install – uninstall – open in finder – show in finder – delete). After I quickly uninstalled EZD2, I loaded up a project in Logic Pro X and everything worked as advertised…

Dunno what happened, but I’m not gonna question things… little sense in that. You don’t fix what ain’t broken… *winks-grins*

Thanx a ton tho for helping me out here, I greatly appreciate it!

    Kindest regards,

    Dok
