I have a Roland TD27 module, ready to upgrade from EZ2 to EZ3, and also want to try to use EZD for drum sounds using my Roland drums as the triggers. I know it’s an option in the EZD settings to choose the different Edrum manufacturers. Where my problem lies is how to do the rest. I’m using MacBook Air with Monterey OS and Logic as my DAW. Should I use an audio interface and just plug my drums USB into that? I guess it would be nice to have a listing of all settings for the TD27, MACbook, and DAW. I looked all over the internet and most everything is pretty generic. Any advice? Thx

Looking for the same answers myself. Anytime I’ve tried this before with my TD27 module and EZDrummer 2, I didn’t get enough clean volume without hiss. Would love if someone could give detail settings on TD27 module, hookup method to laptop, EZD settings, and how to get right/left outputs to mixer.
Hey Kirk, did you try this using an audio interface or straight into the computer?

EZdrummer version: 3.0.0
Operating system: macOS Monterey (12)
My macbook doesn’t recognize the TD27 module as a device to output sound to, so unfortunately I have to also use my scarelett interface. If I just send the usb from the drum module to my laptop, then to hear the EZDrummer kits I have to either use headphones out of the laptop, or output from the laptop to my interface, and use the L&R outputs from the interface into my mixer.
The sounds are pretty good when triggering EZdrummer, but with the TD27 module the dynamics are way better, with zero latency and no audible hiss.
To get the TD-27 to show up as an audio device on your MacBook you should download and install the drivers from Roland. You should then change the USB preferences in your TD-27 from ‘generic’ to ‘vendor’. The TD-27 should then show up as an audio device in EZdrummer.
To disable the internal TD-27 module sounds, go to system settings and select ‘Local Control’ ‘off’.

If you have 8 Gb RAM (I have found 4 Gb is not enough), you won’t need an interface just a USB connection. Make sure under USB settings you are in vendor mode and have downloaded drivers at Roland site. Under System/Midi/Basic scroll down to bottom screen and turn off local control. You don’t need interface, in EZD just use td27 module as output device. Td27 module has gotten a new update 2.0 which hopefully should be available soon by Roland after deployment of td27kv2 and the related accoustic variants.
