When I try to delete empty ez drummer 3, multi-channels, in Cakewalk it crashes.
Hi Allan, did get a crash dump file from the crash?

Hi Christoffer, thanks for responding. I downloaded Ez drummer 3 on Tuesday.
Everything was okay, loaded a song I had started with EZ drummer 2 to try out
the new set up. I did a multichannel drum track and it sounded pretty good.
There were some empty EZ drum tracks so I tried to delete them but when I did
this it crashed to the desktop several times. I have never seen a crash dump file.
Is there somewhere on my PC I can retrieve one from?
If it crashed when you deleted the tracks inside Cakewalk, it is not certain that it was EZdrummer 3 itself that crashed.
Could you try and reproduce the problem, and perhaps upload a Cakewalk project where it can repeated?
EZdrummer 3 will most of the times produce a crash dump file when it crashes, and let you know via a dialog. If you have not seen such dialog, the crash might be elsewhere.

How do you fix a crash with easy drummer 3
ezd3 crashes when selecting midi groove to place on song creator inside digital performer 10.13. Very consistent behavior killing my workflow with multiple restarts. Unstable work environment stressing out client in studio. Please advise.
Hi Daron, did you get a dialog about a crash dump? If so could you upload that crash dump here?

Did not get a dialog about a crash dump from Toontrack. I did get a reporting box to send to Motu.
Hi Daron,
Please launch Digital Performer like this:
open /Applications/Digital\ Performer.app --args --disable_crash_reporter
into the Terminal window and press Return. That should open Digital Performer. Then when it crashes, there should be a standard Apple crash dialog instead of the MOTU one. Click the “Report…” button and copy the crash log text (Problem Details and System Configuration) from the dialog and save it as a text file, then attach it here. Thanks.

Thanked by: Olof HermanssonHi Daron, thanks for the crash log!
We have fixed the issue now, and it will be released on the next update of EZdrummer 3.
In the meantime, to avoid crashes make sure that the last resize of a song track midi block you did was done without any modifier key. For example, drag resize the right or left side of a midi block a with only the mouse, no keyboard. You can resize the block back afterwards.
It’s the combination of alt+drag the right side of a midi block, and then dragging from the browser that was triggering the crash.

Sorry, your message make zero sense to me. Terminology or something but I don’t get it. What’s a “midi-block?”
I do not use any modifier keys when resizing your Toontrack window. “For example, drag resize the right or left side of a midi block a with only the mouse, no keyboard.” Everything I do is mouse oriented. Haven’t had EZ3 long enough to do keyboard commands. I just can’t make sense of your reply. Please try again. Tell me another way. Send screen video or something. You owe it to your customers.
Christoffer, please don’t take this personally. EZ3 is screwing up my projects with clients and causing a lot of unnecessary stress. There were coding problems with EZ2 that Toontracks said would no longer support. I was stuck. The only solution your company gave me was to spend money to go to EZ3 and now I’m back again in the same situation.
I saw great potential in Toontracks. But I can’t feed my family on potential. Give me a stable product where I do NOT have to spend more money to solve a problem only to get a new vexing work flow and excessive stress.
As an influencer in this musical community musicians ask about my experiences with different software. All I can report is so far Toontracks has great potential but has been a disappointing experience for me.
Christoffer, I’m guessing this is not your fault. Please find someone to make this right asap. And, send me a screen video of what you DON’T WANT ME TO DO or DO WANT ME TO DO in Toontracks. I’m so tired of constant crashes.
Hi Daron, I’m attaching a picture of a song track midi block.

“It’s the combination of alt+drag the right side of a midi block, and then dragging from the browser that was triggering the crash.”
In my experience it was using the mouse exclusively to drag a midi groove onto the song creator that consistently crashed everything. Sounds different than what you explained.
