Well, you’re having better luck than I am.  Same version of Cakewalk, but mine crashes everytime I add EZD3,  starting with a blank project or not.

Edited to add: The standalone version seems to work just fine.

Same. It crashes for me every time I try to load it in Cakewalk. About to submit a ticket.

Ben, how are you loading the instrument?  I’ve discovered that if I right click and add instrument, I got a hard crash with a dump file.

If I use the alternate method of dragging the instrument from the synth pane,  EZD3 loads and I see the GUI, but I get an error in the bottom right corner of EZD3 saying the audio engine has failed, or something like that.  Not a hard crash, just doesn’t work.

    Have you tried both ways?

Hey, Willum. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it crashes on me whether I try to launch via Insert > Soft Synth or by dragging it over from the browser.

Bummer.  Either way it’s still no joy.  This is weirder than my tunes.  I’m sure they’ll get it all sorted out.

Glad EZD2 is still working fine.

All my other VST3 plug ins work just fine, with the exception being Spitfire.  My Kontact vst3’s work fine.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

I’m wondering if the same happens when Cakewalk is run as admin.
Besides that, I think the current Cakewalk version is 2022.02, Build 39, so I’d check if yours is up to date.
And while at it, may also be worth to check that other drivers, especially ASIO and graphic card etc. are up-to-date.

On my box (Win 10, Audient USB ASIO Driver, NVIDIA Gfx), the EZd3 works fine, even when loaded into older projects with plenty of other plug-ins active.
A final note: please make sure that “Sample Rate” and “Bit depth” settings in Cakewalk and Windows do match (mine are 48K/24).
    Good luck!

I’m on 2022.02, Build 39 and it’s crashing, but I’ll try running it as an admin to see if that makes a difference.

@Fernando…in the Support toolbar at the top of the page where you enter the Forum, the option below it is Release Notes…keep a close eye on this each day and you’ll eventually see the new EZD3 version identified with some bullet points as to what is being fixed when the update appears in the Product Manager.

    Hope this helps us all!

    Neil
