A few weeks ago, I purchased EZ Drummer 2 with included free upgrade to EZ Drummer 3, available May 3. I have owned the original EZ Drummer for years and wanted to upgrade from that directly to EZD3, but when I went to my account, it said I couldn’t upgrade directly from the original EZD to EZD3, that I would have to buy EZD2 for $179, and it would include the upgrade to EZD3. But now today I am seeing on the site and the latest EZD3 videos that I should have been able to upgrade directly from EZD to EZD3 for $79. Did the upgrade policy change, or what? Did I spend an unnecessary extra $100, or am I getting much extra value from having EZD2?

I upgraded from 1 to 3 no worries so that’s a bit strange. It 2as a question asked in the live stream on version 3 and it said yes 1 to 3 upgrade nothing about to version 2 which I never owned.
By the way all the kits from 2 and the midi will transfer across after 3 is released.
You can’t buy 2 and the drum kits and midi from 2 that comes with it AFTER 3 is released. So you loose that or gain it depending on if u own it before or after 3s release.
So yes you get the kits and midi from 2 and that will all appear and works in 3 only if you own 2 if that’s your other question.

Funkmaster works without issue on EZ Drummer 3. I use it quite often.
