    Hello Tom,

I also play the bass guitar into my DAW, Studio One, and then get it into EzBass via the AudioTracker. I do this because the sound quality of EzB is great, and easier to get sitting right in the mix.

It’s usually just about right, except for a song with tempo changes, which takes a bit of mucking about to fix. That said, it sounds like you’re doing what I do – – – except I suggest not even using the Chord picker in EzB; you have already decided what parts the Bass should play haven’t you?

After putting the bass audio from AudioTracker into the Song Track in EzBass I just completely hide the Song Track (once all is aligned properly), and do the fine detail editing, such as articulations and velocity etc, in the Grid Editor of EzB. From what you’ve said you have no need for the chord picker or ‘suggested’ bass lines, so give it a go.

    Hope this helps you…Cheers

    Hello Victor!

Your answer helped, I also think the sound quality is great and its easier to find a bass and a bass sound that sits well in the mix. I think I simply ignore the chord picker when tracking audio.

Do you track a whole song or individual song parts? It’s less work to track a part, edit it and copy/paste it. Although I like variations.

    Hello tom,

I play the entire song when recording my initial bass guitar part within the DAW; I often do that in smaller sections in order to get exactly what I want.

After I get it into EzBass via AudioTracker, I “edit” it in the EzB Editor Grid. I do it as a whole song, but also often copy/paste from within that ‘whole’ ie; if I think the Verse 1 part has edited up as I want it to, I will sometimes copy/paste that up to Verse 2 etc.

This works for me. I must say that if there are Tempo changes within the song it can sometimes be tricky to get things lined up. The ‘start’ of the Song Track in EzB doesn’t recognise the following adjustments such as – In Studio One I always have a few Bars of pre-song ie; I can set the songs’ Bar 1 to actually be a few bars after the Start Marker in S1, in order to have a 2 Bar Count-In for recording subsequent tracks in the song.

I hope you can make sense of this, and wish you well with your work.
