Don’t be surprised if this is an upgradeable feature to SD4. I’d be rather confident that the TT team would take this feature and expand it further for SD, just as they have done previously. For now, I have no issues upgrading my EZD2 to EZD3 and adjusting my workflow slightly. For me it will be well worth the upgrade price.

Is anyone else concerned about the future of SD after today’s announcement? A few of Superior’s killer features (MIDI editor being the standout) have made the jump over so I’m not sure what SD4 can bring to the table. I guess we’ll see. Excited to be getting some more Hansa drums for the library!

Not concerned at all. It was a similar type of feature leapfrog between EZD2 and SD3, where ToonTrack took things further with SD3 leaving EZD2 owners wanting more. Not to mention a large core library with it. The SD3 features now in EZD3 were inevitable, seeing what was available in EZBass. I think EZKeys may be next to the table, then Superior Drummer which will leapfrog EZD3 in features. However, I believe with all of this, it is going to take considerable time, so we’re just going to have to be patient.

SD3 has a huge amount more especially for edrummers as well as kits that can be customised and interchanged. The libraries are so much better as well. No comparison to me for what I do.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Good points from both. I didn’t even think about the eDrum aspect of it.

Spooky that the Gretsch kit on the webpage seems very much like Taylor’s setup.

I agree that Bandmate should be added to SD3.

I just hope we don’t have to upgrade to a new version (SD4) in order to get a feature that is available now in EZ drummer.
