I want to take for example the pearl default preset drumset, make a copy of it into a user preset to edit while still having the original pearl default preset. Every time I try to do this the pearl Default kit gets edited as well. I thought if you copied a preset into a user preset, you would only be editing THAT user preset and the original preset would stay factory set and unedited. I can’t seem to make this work. If I load up the original drum set preset, it’s edited as well, just like the user preset. What am I doing wrong? I would like to have the copy and edit procedure of a roland module. In the Roland module I knew if I copied a Preset drumset i always had the original drum set ready to go. Things like this should be easily addressed in the manual so we’re not tearing our hair out. Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry if I was too redundant I just wanted to make sure that I got my point across.
Just select a preset then save as and give it a new name. That’s all you have to do. You can even edit the the preset and then save as.

Thanked by: Cesar ValdezThanks for the reply. Well I did that and it didn’t independently save my kit, the preset was edited too. Just to give you more information, the kit I copied was the pearl default and I named my user preset pearl default 2. Could that have been the problem? Does the naming have to be drastically different then original for it to save correctly?
