Hello
hope all is well. I just upgraded to Cubase 12. I was working on my first project and using SD3. SD3 works fine within Cubase 12. However when I tried to add the snare track that I just converted to audio from the SD3 session into Tracker, my system crashed. This happened like 3 times in a row. I then opened a new project and tried again with same file. This time i kept receiving and error message that the WAV could not be decoded. When i open a project that was not created in Cubase 12 the tracker works fine. However when I tried to add that same file that I mentioned (which was made in a CuBase 12 session) I now get a message that file cannot be located – even if I search and find the file, it still will not load it.
Strange enough I tried EZBass in Cubase 12 and same basic issue. Keep getting an error message and a system dump file so I have to rename the project etc…
When I restart Cubase 12 I get a message that there was an error at C/Windows/System32/Kernelbase.dll
I really have no idea what that means. Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if its a bug with the new Cubase 12 conflicting with Toontrack but strange that it is both products and they are working fine in other prior sessions. or im just missing something. But as mentioned both SD3 and EZbass work fine in Cubase 12 as long as it wasnt created in Cubase 12. Keep in mind I have only worked on one project since getting Cubase 12. I Will start a whole new session tomorrow to see what happens…maybe my current session just became corrupted,if that is a thing lol…..:(
Thanks
Mike
Hi,
what are the detailed file properties of the WAV file; bit depth, sample rate, etc?

The WAV files are sample rate 44.1 and I believe 24 bit. Basically the same properties I always use and never had an issue with.
Thanks

OK, just wanted to check. Standalone operation works as expected?
It *might* have something to do with the Cubase 12 update and Steinberg’s move to phase out VST2.
Currently, you load VST2 via some Cubase Preference setting, I believe? EZbass is now VST3, so it should be loaded instead of the VST2. Unfortunately, I do not have Cubase 12 myself, so I am not of much more help there. If someone doesn’t chime in here, perhaps you should open a Support Ticket with Toontrack Support via the FAQ pages.

Hello
Thanks for the response. Strangely enough both SD3 and EZ bass seem to be working today fine. I switched the Project Set Up from 64 bit floating to 32 bit. I have no idea if that does anything but the trackers on both seem to be working fine right now.
They both will not accept the WAV files from the first project I did on Cubase 12. I get the “Cant be decoded” message with SD3 and EZbass “cant find the file”
I,m thinking something just went haywire on that first project ….but so far seem to be working as expected. i will keep you posted if something changes
