Which e-drum preset (MENU > Settings > E-Drums > MIDI Mapping) are you using? With the “Alesis” preset in EZdrummer 2.2.2, this issue should not be happening.

Does it say “2.2.2” in the lower right corner of your EZdrummer window?

Hi – yes it is 2.2.2 – but I completely missed the bit about setting the mapping to Alesis – it was set to none.

    Such a simple fix! Thanks!

Actually – another issue. Since setting the mapping to Alesis, the hi-hat choke no longer works. If I hold the pedal down, it does the initial sound of the high hat closing, but if I hit the hi hat, it makes an open sound.

Hm yeah, that’s a problem. The next update should fix it with a new Nitro/Surge-specific mapping. So for now you need to choose between those two issues. Btw, I think “Generic (No CC)” may be generally better for the Nitro than “None.”
