I have an issue where at times while I’m recording I’m playing and hearing a closed hit hat sound, however upon playback some of the notes sound open. I can’t figure out where it’s coming from as all the notes seem to be consistently placed in the grid editor. For example, I have 4 bars of hi hat notes. They should all be ‘closed’ and indeed appear in the grid editor on the ‘closed tip’ line. However the first 3 notes sound as though I’m playing an open edge. I do not see any other hi hat notes in the grid editor and am confused as to why some sound open and some sound closed when they are all on the ‘closed tip’ line of the grid. I’m sure there is probably an easy solution, setting, etc. that I have yet to find. And I’m using SD3 as a plugin within GarageBand.
Any guidance from experienced SD users would be appreciated!
This could be caused by CC1 or CC4 curves. Please check if you have any – in the Grid Editor where it says Velocity by default.
Are you really using version 3.2.0? 3.2.7 is the latest.

I had that issue as well. Olaf is bang on.
My remedy after playing in is to strip out all the info from those curves and edit the hat again. I use a Roland VH-11 and it gives me all sorts of unwanted data.
Rat.
