Hi, hope everyone is doing well. In the process, I came up with the following idea/request.
It would be perfect to invent the feature to rename channels in the MIXER in a way that these custom names are being picked up upon the export of the drumtracks. Currently, this is not available, however, it would be pretty crucial to have because the feature would allow to customize channel names and make them export properly would save a lot of time while importing tracks back in Cubase, arranging them in a certain order, and saving this order as a template.
Looking forward to this upgrade and thanks a lot in advance.
Hi,
if you are Bouncing through the Mixer, you can name the Outputs and they will have that name added, e.g. renaming Out 1/2 to ‘KICK’ will result in ‘Out_KICK’.
If you are Bouncing pre-mixer (per microphone), I’m not sure how it can be any more descriptive than Snare Top, OH, AMB Close, Kick Sub, etc.?

Thanked by: Edgars RakovskisThe problem is not in the names but in the order of the channels. If I do not re-name them I can not have them imported in a specific order in the Cubase template. That means each time after import these tracks need to be adjusted manually. If I need to do it once – OK, if I have to do it for the album – it takes some time.
Aha, OK, so you would like to Bounce pre-mixer but e.g. add a number before the Microphone name, like ‘1-Kick’, ‘2-Kick Sub’, ‘3-Snare Top’, etc?

Thanked by: Edgars RakovskisYes – We want to be able to manually move track channels around in the mixer to make our life easier. A simple request that many of us have been asking for..
Hi, John,
I have come across the same situation that I wrote about in the forum years ago. 🙂 Decided to check in for the update. Any chance you, guys, would make the MIXER channels “customizable” (channel names)?
Thanks!
Hi,
this is the right place for Requests but I can’t share any new info regarding this. As always, upcoming versions, features and stuff are communicated via the main site and/or email.
Not being a programmer, I can imagine this being trickier than you might think since the Bounce rendering pulls info from the source’s library microphone configuration settings.
But I may very well be wrong.

Thanked by: Edgars RakovskisThanks for checking in, John.
Not a programmer either, but maybe a miracle happens. 🙂 It would improve the workflow/time consumption very, very much (at least for me who spends a LOT of time using SD3) when importing printed audio tracks into the DAW. If that helps, I can contribute by making a promo video or whatever if that could motivate to develop this update, haha… thinking loudly and just making my point. 🙂
P.s. Should I write an email to the developers directly or I misunderstood the process and you are forwarding these requests to them already?

Toontrack HQ scans the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section of the Forum, so no need.
