Just a heads up. When I went to Install SD3 on the new Mac, I had planned on placing the library on an external drive [Satechi Hub with the M.2 drive]. Install kept failing as I was getting the “failure to eject disk” error. I gave up and ended up just installing it on my primary.
I was able to move another sample library [Omnisphere] off the primary today to the same external drive. So I thought I’d try SD3 again. I managed to first copy over Rooms of Hansa with no issues. Then I tried to copy over the core library and it kept failing.
I then created the folder structure on the external drive and began trying to copy over a few files at a time. I managed to get them all over in smaller batches except for “soundb12.obw”. Even by itself it would fail. I kept trying to copy it over and over and finally it went.
Since I was feeling lucky, I went to download and try yo install the “part 2 room mics” , and I get the “disk eject” error.
To me this seems to indicate a certain type of file or file structure that the mac doesn’t like.
In retrospect, and as a tip to others, download and install all your libraries first then, copy [a little bit at a time] your libraries over your secondary.
This is my first Mac btw. This little box is fast, but there’s obviously still some issues.

How was your drive formatted? That might be an indication as to why you are having that issue. I have been running Big Sur on a RAID without any problems. The fact that you are using an M1 has no real bearing in this case.

Could be some sort of permissions issue in that case. Was the drive either pre-formatted or formatted on another Mac prior to using the M1?
