Greetings,
I’m using Ableton Live and want to create individual, separate midi clips for kick, snare, hat etc instead of having all midi notes in one clip.
I want to be able to trigger just the kick for a specific part of the song, and then bring in the snare etc as needed…
I tried turning off specific drums and dragging the midi to a clip, but it still keeps all the midi parts of the groove.
Is there any easy way to do what I want? Are there grooves with just kick or just snare and not a whole kit to be able to mix and match?
As is, I’m having 1) drag a groove to a clip 2) cut the midi note for snare and 3) paste it to another clip and repeat for any other midi notes… and it quite time consuming…
Thanks all!
Hi,
in the right hand corner of the Grooves list window, there’s the ‘Groove Parts’ button for showing/hiding the instruments used in the selected groove.
If you select e.g. the Kick in Groove Parts, this is what you will hear when playing back a Groove and you can drag the part down to your SD3 Song Track or DAW Track.
When the grooves are on the Song Track, you can mix and match by copying an instrument from one groove and then pasting it onto another.
