Playback is extremely fast and glitchy

I don’t use an e-kit or anything and just use the standalone program. Any drums that I have programmed playback at what seems to be double the speed I have the tempo set to. They also sound distorted and have a cackling sound.

Hi,

I suspect you are using the DirectSound output device (in Settings > Audio/MIDI Setup). Try changing to another type, preferably ASIO (for example ASIO4ALL). Alternatively, raising the buffer size may also help, but I would really advise against using DirectSound.
