I’m using the Step Sequencer in Cakewalk by Bandlab (formerly Sonar) to do all of my drum programming. The problem that I’d like to overcome is that everytime I launch the step sequencer directly from Cakewalk, it generates a window without any of the drum names and with the drums in an order that is not conducive to my work style.
How do I customize the Step Sequencer view so that for each drumkit it opens with the drum names in the right hand column and in the order that I prefer.
I’d like to add to this discussion. I’d like to understand if drum maps in cakewalk can get me to where I need to be. I’ve created a simple drum map in cakewalk but cannot seem to get it to apply to the step sequencer.
Is there no one out there working with EZdrummer drum maps for Cakewalk? I have to think there would be a large number of people looking to solve this particular problem. Thanks!
Alright, I’ve gotten further with this by selecting the drum map as the midi out device from the midi track in Cakewalk.
Next step is…. more drum maps. Where can I find all of the Cakewalk / Sonar drum maps for EZX expansion packs?
Hi, perhaps this thread can help you? I see there’s a downloadable drum map in one of the posts:

Thanks, I’m in that thread and have those drum maps. That covers a few of them. I’m in the process of creating a few. Sure wish Toontrack would speak up and address this issue. They should be providing these for their customers.
