Yes, I am using it on a Mac mini with a silicon M1 chip.  SD3 is still not natively supporting M1 (and as such uses Rosetta) but I have seen no issues, and responses by Toontrack in another support ticket indicates that the M1 native support should be coming soon.

Not if you are sensitive to lag.  All apple computers will be ARM moving forward.  I recommend not giving this company a dime until they make SD3 M1 native.

Any updates on the M1 native?  Is Toontrack awake?

They’re working on getting everything updated and compatible but for what its worth I’ve been using SD3 and EZD2 on an M1 Mini without a single problem.

An SD3 update with native support for Apple M1 has just been released.

    Thank you, Toontrack!

I updated to 3.2.5 but the App says still Intel…

On my M1 machine – the stand-alone app still runs as 64-bit intel.  When I run SD3 in Logic Pro X (as an AU) – it runs as ARM.  When it is running in ARM it is amazingly fast.  Toontrack did an excellent job.

All of my latency issues are gone when running as an AU.  Everything is super snappy and fast.  This is amazing.  I have been looking at release notes everyday for 8 months waiting for this.  This is truly the future of drumming.

THANK YOU TOONTRACK!  I am going to now buy some more products to support this company!

Works great for me with the 16 GB Ram model! 🙂

Yeah sorry, I don’t know how this slipped through. It’s built for Apple silicon too but is configured to open only in Intel mode. Until we fix this, you can start it in native mode using this double-clickable script.

Now put it to work on my M1 iPad and I have the perfect set up!  I would have no problem paying for it.

Thank you for getting it done though!  Much appreciated.

Has this fixed the issue where, when running SD3 in Logic pro x SD3 and the DAW interface are out of synch? (very difficult to use the grid editor when it plays out of synch with Logic)

    Hi 987baz,

why don’t you install the update and see for yourself? 😁 The sync is snappy here, though.

I have’t updates to big sur yet, (new patch is big sur only) and was wondering if it will work, as I have other software that doesn’t play well with big sur.. that was the reason for my question

Superior Drummer 3.2.5 is for macOS 10.9 or above, not 11.x only
