what DAW are you using?

does your DAW have the ability to use a MIDI mapping different than the mapping of the Toontrack standard?

I’m using Studio One 5 — but the issue seems to be with Superior Drummer as far as I can tell .. When I drag and drop MIDI from the groove editor, Studio One displays the name of the MIDI file being dragged in. I am not getting mis-mapped MIDI; I’m getting MIDI files from different MIDI packs altogether.

Hi,

if you start the Standalone SD3 and drag a MIDI file from the Grooves browser to your Desktop, does it still end up being something other than expected?

If you drag from the Standalone to Studio One?

Which version number is displayed in the SD3 plug-in window (lower left corner of the GUI) in Studio One? And in the Standalone?

Dragging from standalone to desktop seems to be free from issues..

..but dragging from standalone to Studio One has the exact same issue as the VST version. Both are showing version 3.2.4..

This is super frustrating. The only workaround I have found so far is comping into the MIDI song track at the bottom of the GUI and then dragging that into Studio One (works flawlessly). Any other ideas..?

Hi,

I have been trying to reproduce here with Studio One 5.2.1 but I can’t. Dragging from the VST plug-in browser works as expected.
I can’t find anything in the Studio One Preferences that would affect this either. Something is clearly messing this up for you inside Studio One, since you can drag a file from the standalone to the Desktop with expected results.

I’ll ask my colleagues here on the Forum.

Hi,

the most probable cause is that somehow the write permissions on drag and drop files are being denied.

Try and go to C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3 (or similar if not installed on C:) and remove all files that ends with .mid or .midtrackinfo.

You can also try to set write permissions on that folder if you know how to do that.

Hello,

I am having the same issue as the prior user. Whenever I drag and drop the midi file from the library of SD3 directly to DAW (Studio One 5) the midi is not the same. I tried removing the files in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3 that end in .mid or midtrackinfo. This did not resolve the issue. Any other suggestions?

did you check the permissions on that folder? Is it both Read and Write?

I have this problem too when I drag and drop a groove from SD3 into my DAW or even in the song editor the sound changes to a very nasty one. I never had this problem in the last couple of years of using SD3
