I am new to SD3, MIDI, so hopefully my my question will make sense.
I started out with a Roland TD 17 kit. I sold the module with the plan of replacing it with EDrumin (trigger) and SD3. So far, I have all my pads connected, sound is coming out. I have the hi-hat setup too.
I would like to use Melodics in this configuration. Unfortunately, Melodics expects different MIDI values for Open Hi-Hat and Closed Hi-Hat. When I was using the Roland module, this worked fine. I am assuming the Roland used the Hi-Hat MIDI and with CC4 figured out if it should send the Open or Closed MIDI signal to Melodics.
My thought is that if I can get SD3 to represent itself as a MIDI device, I can use the MIDI output from SD3 to drive Melodics. Does that make sense?
Right now, I cannot setup MIDI out, since it says I am in “Standalone Mode”. I have watched lots of videos and scanned many articles, but I cannot see how to set this up on my Mac. Right now, the only software I have is the Edrumin Config tool and SD3. I’ve seen mentions of using a DAW, but I don’t quite see how to set it up.
