Hi. Im running Alesis Surge E-drums through SD3. SD3 senses the kick and tom triggers no problem. However, no sound is outputted. All the other drums and cymbals work perfectly. I tried the learn function. Still no output. Im on the latest version of SD3 as I just purchased it a week ago. Im on an older Mac but that seems irrelevant since all the other drums and cymbals in the kit work perfectly. Is this a software glitch? Thank you.

Hi Dave,
software glitch seems highly unlikely, it’s most likely a routing problem.
Could you please specify which audio interface you are using, i.e. how you get the sound out of your computer? Does it have multiple outputs?
Can you please take some screen shots of your SD3 mixer making sure the outputs and bottom of each fader is visible?
Are you using a specific Preset and if so, which one?
You shouldn’t need to ‘Learn’ your kit if you start with one of the Alesis MIDI Presets on the Settings > MIDI In/E-drums page.
BR,
John

Hi John. I’m so sorry it took me so long to reply. I found your reply in my spam folder. Thank you so much for your reply. As it turns out, I tried to get this going again by unplugging and powering down the drums and computer. I did try this the first time without success. However, after a few days and trying it again it worked perfectly. I should have come back here and told the community that problem was solved but I forgot. I am sorry for wasting your time. Thank you for replying. Everything sounds wonderful now.
Dave
