So I’ve had EZD 2 for a while now and I love it. The only Ezx I had for a long time was Drums of Destruction, and it’s great.
I recently purchased Modern Metal and am now having some pretty bad cpu issues.
everything works great in standalone, but when loaded up in Reaper, the Will Putney presets absolutely wreck my cpu. I’ve seen it spike up to 40% cpu usage.
This only happens when using the Will Putney presets, the other ones are fine.
Is the amount of extra processing on Will’s presets that severe? According to the system requirements to run this particular EZX, I should be having no issues.
For reference I’ve been using EZD2, EZbass, several NeuralDSP plugins, and stock reaper plugins for a while now with zero issues. I’ve never seen it spike above 6-7% until now.
I have a 2013 iMac, i5, 16GB ram. Not the most powerful machine, but it has been flawless before this.
I’m a huge fan of Will, and really do love the sounds he gets out of this kit, I would love to be able to utilize it.
Any advice or insight is appreciated.
Does increasing the audio buffer change things?

Hi Scott, so I’m actually at work now for the day, and don’t have access, but I will try that first thing when I get home.

Thanked by: ScottHey Scott, so that seems to have fixed the issue. I increased the buffer rate and have seen a big drop in cpu usage.
thanks so much!
