I couldn’t get the search terms correct to find the answer to this here at the forum.
I have Rock Solid EZX loaded in SD3. I’m replacing the Rock Solid toms with the New York Vol. 3 Rogers 1966 Toms.
When Tom 1 or Tom 3 is triggered after this change, it alternates between a Center tom hit and a tom Rimshot. I cannot figure out how to disengage the rimshot. The same midi note is being sent to SD3, yet the hits alternate consistently. Even when clicking on the image of the toms in the Drums Tab, the sound alternates.
I assume EXZ Toms load fine and SDX toms do not in this case.
*What’s interesting is Tom 2 does not have this behavior, and it’s graphic is different. Though still a Rogers 1966 Tom.
Thanks for your time!

Hi,
it’s a bit tricky to know what has happened without having the Project in front of me and I do not have the SDX in question on my laptop.
Have you made sure both the EZX and SDX are up to date?
There is a thing with the Rock Solid EZX that it does not have Center and Rim or Rim Only hits, which most libraries do have.
It has Center and Center Alt hits for the Toms. Perhaps is it this fact with Alternate Hits Default enabled that comes into play?
If you expand the ‘Hit Variation’ Property Box and un-check ‘Use Alternate Hits’, it solves it?
BR,
John

Thanked by: ShootieYou could also disable the rim articulation.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Thanked by: ShootieI’m up to date. I see, I never noticed the alt hits are in Rock Solid. I’m not a fan of the alt hit feature and I now see it translates over to SD3. Would be great to have this check box in EZD2 as well so one doesn’t have to disengage Humanize.
Regardless, you showed me the solution. I appreciate your time. Thanks so much, John!
