Is anyone actually recording drum parts played from an E Kit onto EZD2.

Are you recording your drumkit in Tap2Find or in the SongTrack window?

Can you show a video of your issue?

If you get a new module, get one that supports “aftertouch”. Even when you get up and running with your module, your cymbals may not choke.

“I’m having issues with video but the process “works” in Tap to Find w/ my mouse and w/ my kit but in the song track window it works w/ my mouse but “not” with the kit(except for one kick drum beat)

It sounds like a bug if Tap2Find is good, yet Songtrack is not when recording with you kit.

    I would try reinstalling.

I haven’t actually recorded with my kit since the last update. I can do a test for you, it will take a bit for me to get back to my computer/kit though.

I was also considering re-installing. Do  I need to remove the authorization  from my products first or just re-install

Just uninstall/reinstall. I don’t mess with activations unless prompted. Let me know if that works on your end. I’m curious.

I re installed and it’s the same no recording except for sporadic single beats of kick, snare, tom and cymbal

Does Nitro Mesh have a specific driver, or is it plug and play? I tried to look it up myself, but I do not have an alesis account.

It must be plug and play because Alesis said it doesn’t need additional drivers

As you can see I have no issues.

I’m on EZD2 2.2.0 (64 bit)  Windows 10. I tested before I updated Win10 and after. With this in mind, you may want to make sure Windows is updated. I’m using a Roland TD-4 through a generic Midi to USB converter.

Do you use a DAW or any other drum software that your kit can trigger?

I have not installed a DAW yet as I have been waiting to get EZD2 recording. I have looked at  2 or 3.

I was thinking about checking out Steven Slate the base pkg is only about $150

To be honest I don’t like the idea of buying software that I can’t use telephone support

Slate has a free demo. I didn’t realize Steven Slate Drums could do what you’re trying to do with EZD2. Depending on what you want to do with your drum software, EZD2 is pretty amazing for it’s price point, IMO.

You’re just dealing with a bug or oversight. What you need at this point is support. Go to any FAQ, at the bottom you will see “tags”, there you can email support. You may want to reference this thread so they don’t ask you all similar questions all over again.

If you’re new to edrumming with software, there’s always going to be a hiccup with the endless amount of manufacturer’s software and hardware configurations that need to work together. There are a lot of people here with your configuration. It will work when the correct question is asked.

Not sure of your computer specs, but my last thought is maybe recording in the Soundtrack requires more computer resources. What’s your Buffer size and does EZD2 perform better when you raise it?

    Good luck.

I actually am also talking back and forth with Toontrack support. Like you said eventually the right question will lead me to the correct setting for this to work.

I am running an AMD  Ryzen 3900 x 12 core CPU 4.1 Mhz with 32 GB Ram 3600 Mhz

Shootie, You’ve been asking if have tried using a DAW. I have not yet because I figured I needed to get EZD2 to record properly, but can I play through a DAW and record now  ???( even though I may not be able to manipulate the midi files as much in a DAW) ???
