How do you make a drumtrack to a prexisting song that also has an unstable tmpo

  I have a customer that has given me a heck of a task,  He wants me to take a song that he recorded on tape, of which the layed down tempo was done on a shaker, which was layed over a metronome that was erased…. And theres a couple problems with that,

  A. The tracker says the tempo is extremely unstable

  B. The customer wants me to lay over the music a tempo that would fit that, without sounding weird

   

  So

  1. Does Superior Drummer even do that?

  2. How does that even work?
