Hi Guys,
I would like the ability when in mixer mode to be able to trigger a drum sound to hear the effect results when adding EQ etc or to hear what it sounds like on its own, similar to what is experienced when clicking on an instrument in the drums view. As far as I can work out, the only way to do this currently is to have something being played by the DAW or SD and then solo the individual instrument. Perhaps anywhere on the background of the slider, or a where is shows the name of the sound at the bottom (Kick In, Kick Out, Kick Sub etc). Single click to trigger sound, double click to rename (as current)? Or perhaps make the coloured trim at the very top slightly bigger and have a loud speaker icon to show it will trigger if clicked?
Thanks. Any chance of this?
I would do as you suggested, loop a segment in your DAW or SD3, and solo the track to hear the edits. It’s probably better to hear it in context and while manipulating the effect in real time.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your question. I use a keyboard to input MIDI and simply playing a note triggers whatever drum sound I want to EQ and apply effects. One could do the same with triggers from a kit.

Click Control + Alt and it will display the preview pad for the selected instrument on any tab in Superior Drummer 3. There is a ‘pin’ in the top right corner of the preview pad that .will stick the pad to the interface in that location on all tabs

In addition to Scott’s suggestion, you can also split apart the mixer tab into its own window, allowing you to view the kits as well as the mixer.
This will work within your DAW. You can also use Mac’s suggestion within your DAW.
