How can I insert a new section at the beginning of the track (or in the middle)?
Or how would I slide the whole song over so I can add something at the beginning?
There is no Shuffle style editing function in EZD2. It’s pretty manual with moving objects.
You can drag a marque and move multiple Midi Blocks. You can hold Control and select multiple specific Midi Blocks. You can hold Shift and select Midi Blocks in a series. You can hold Control and select and drag a Midi Block or Midi Block selection to duplicate it.
If that’s not intuitive, check out the Songtrack video within the link in my signature.

Hope that helps.

Thanked by: meadowmanAwesome tutorial.
You mention something about using EZD in the DAW.
Can this be done in Cakewalk?
When I import the drums into Cakewalk, I lose the visual cues that show intro/chorus/bridge, etc. Working within the DAW would solve this. My CW version is 2019.11.
Yes. You should youtube “EZDrummer 2, Cakewalk” for some workflows.
You can just have EZD2 play the midi/instrument track in cakewalk. So EZ is just the sound engine. Or you can load EZ in Cakewalk, yet still use EZ’s Songtrack if you want to keep the visual color coding and metadata that EZ provides. And a combo of both for advanced users. You’ll get the feel of what is best for you once you dive in for a bit. Good luck and have some fun with it.
I’m not a Cakewalk guy, but someone who is may hop on this thread for some specifics. DAW’s in general will expand your EZD2 worflow greatly though.
