Hi ,i’m a new SD3 user and i’m experiencing something that confuse me… I’ m using a TD27kv Roland with SD3 in Logic.
I recorded a track wich i’m pretty happy with and it sound fantastic in logic. I’ve been recording with my own Edrums user preferences, the track is working perfect on the grid, but when I import the midi file on the timeline for executing a multitrack bounce, the hi hat is playing something else (Open instead of close etc…) I’ve been looking differents solutions but nothing’s change. Just when I activate the midi out I ear a double sound and i can ear the good take with the closed HH within the bad one ??? I’ve also notice that nothing’s change if I change the Edrums presets while i’m playing the track from the timeline ?
Any help’s welcome
Thanks a lot
Hi,
is it possible for you to zip the Logic Project file (without any audio files/folders) and attach to a post here? I suspect I know what is going on but would like to check the Project.

Hi John, thank you very much for your quick response 😉 As i think about it, it seems the midi controls ( recorded with the user prefs) are not played by SD3 and only in the DAW… I hope you’ll find the solution.
I’m a professional drummer and i use to record a lot real drums in real studios, but with the corona everything’s different today. So it’s very important for me to work this out because i think you’re offering the best alternative in the all world in terms of Virtual instruments !
I used to work with SD2 before when i wasn’t able to record real drums, i no one never had a clue it was a VI ? So congrats for this amazing update, i just can’t believe my ears !
By the way, would you have a mapping ready for the TD27KV ? I ‘m still struggling creating my own preferences, the drums is not reacting a 100% the way i’d like, especially the Hi Hat ;-D
Hope i’m not asking too much….
So thank you very much anyway for helping me….. Merry Christmas
Be safe….
Frank
the td-27 hihat max velocity is set to 90 by default, that could be the issue why SD3 is playing an open hihat, you can change that in the module system > triggers > hihat or you can calibrate the hihat in SD3 which would remap the module scale from 0-90 to 0-127 (i think thats the better option since you already recorded with max velocity 90)
Hi John and Happy New Year, I haven’t heard from you since i’ve send the session you’ve asked ? is it normal ?

@Mintberrycrunch Hi and thank you for your answer, I’ve watch your video and it seems to be a solution while i’m playing but what about my session with is already recorded 😉 ?

No problem if you have recorded your midi data: You can also fix it on post production.

Thanked by: FrankHi Frank,
I’m sorry but either the notification didn’t work or I simply missed the check box.
From what I can see, there is nothing that looks like an “issue” but the E-Drums MIDI Preset you have created is applied to incoming MIDI data only, not what’s on the internal SD3 Track, which means that if you export the MIDI from Logic and Import the file to the SD3 Track you need to apply the MIDI Preset.
Personally, I’d just record arm the SD3 Track and then Play through the MIDI in Logic, which gets the MIDI recorded to the SD3 Track as WYHIWYG.
Does this solve your problem or have I misunderstood?

John
