Hi there everybody, I hope I’m not the only one who really needs this feature. I felt I could resume this Topic in a specific thread. Maybe it files under Feature Request. As the title goes, one can – in EZbass and EZkeys – replace the midi in the song track on the fly for quick auditioning. Why not in SD3?
I mainly work within a DAW so I have several other instruments playing along SD3 so it is essential to be able to quickly audition groove alternatives/variations in context. In my case I make a loop that includes the ending of the previous groove and the beginning of the next one. I’d find it so helpful to just loop that section and click-swap the groove in the middle (the one I’m working on). It could also lead to unexpected solutions and boost creativity. I mean, exactly like in EZbass and EZ keys. Then I will basically have the whole song in place and only need to go into the Grid Editor (or Edit Play Style) for fine tuning.
Please Toontrack, add this feature to SD3 as soon as possible.
Thanks
You have somewhat described what is already available in Tap-2-Find and paste groove parts.

sorry but the replace midi function is absolutely a different workflow feature than tap2find and paste groove (as you suggest). mostly because it doesn’t act on the song track but isolated. maybe you work in sd3 in a different way than me and/or others and that’s totally fine. it seems to me like you didn’t really understand what i meant. I described precisely what is it the I’d need and in which circumstances. what you suggest doesn’t obviously make any sense in this context. it’s like mixing oranges and apples. but thanks anyway.
Tap-2-Find is the one part. After you audition the groove you’re looking for, you can then paste the part over the groove in whole or part. If it doesn’t work, you can always undo. Perhaps one o two more steps but certainly not arduous.
