Articulations not corresponding outside of song track

Hi, all.

Enjoying EZbass so far. However, one issue I have is that when switching articulations, the sound doesn’t switch to that articulation until the next note. It also happens rather randomly as well, sometimes it registers, sometimes it doesn’t.

I am not using EZbass’s built in song track, I have the MIDI as a regular track in my DAW (Cubase 10). Oddly enough, it does switch articulations without a hitch in EZbass’s song track. Is there a workaround besides having to put my MIDI back into the song track?

You have to have the key-switch event happen before the note you want it to affect. It can happen in the middle of the previous note without affecting that note.

MIDI events do not last through what we think is the duration of a note. A MIDI note is an “on” event later followed by an “off” event, of which, gives you the duration of the note. (to put it very simply). So, a key-switch cannot affect a change in the middle a note. So, make sure you key-switch starts before the note starts.
