I’ve been finding that EZBass frequently crashes Reaper when I add it to a track. It’s making it almost unusable.
I updated to the latest version last night, hoping it might fix the issue, but when I did manage to get it on a track it said the Tone Bass had been updated (think that’s what it was called) and I’d need to update. The picture of a bass wasn’t loaded. The stand alond version didn’t have this issue. And now it causes Reaper to crash when I play it.
Going to try a reinstall tonight, but any one else having similar issues.
Please upload crash dump files if you get any.

When it crashes, there should be a dialog with a link to it. But they are saved in %LocalAppData%\EZbass (which you can get to by pasting the path into the address field of an Explorer window).

I did a full reinstall. For some reason the update 1.07 isn’t working, but I got it onto 1.06 with a bit of fiddling, and it appears to be working now, I’ll let you know if it starts happening again.
I suspect that if I uninstall againa nd download 1.07 that will install, but will try that only if I have issues or there’s a new update that needs it.
Hi, found you on forum regards EZB crashing. I`m running it within pro tools and when editing EZB {grid editor} most times it just crashes both EZB & pro tools, I have saved the DMP crash dump files. All EZB is up to date, {version 1.0.6 on installation info says vst 1.0.7}. etc. Pls find att last DMP file, {all DMP files say the same; “build 26474”} any help would be much appreciated {as working on a deadline}.
Thanks
Nigel.
I had to uninstall and then download the latest version and install that. Seems to be working fine now.

Hi,
It’s unfortunately hard to say what can be the cause of this crash, because it normally doesn’t crash in this code, which is called every time you stop playback in the host, for example.
Can you reproduce it? If you find a way, please describe.
It seems that a certain kind of editing in the grid editor that can cause “memory corruption” crashes (in 1.0.7 and probably earlier versions as well) but we haven’t located the bug yet. So save your projects frequently.

Has the .dll been moved or copied since it was installed? Is the path shown in the standalone version the path set in Reaper?

Same with me. It has become unusable in Bandlab Cakewalk (current version).
In Toontrack prod manager it says it’s up to date as with all other products.
However, if I go to my account I see the products I have there are anomalies like products
need to be ‘mark as installed’ and ‘authorize’.
It works fine in standalone.

Your pic shows version 1.0.5 and not 1.0.7. Has the .dll been moved or copied since it was installed?

Hi Scott,
Here’s a screenshot from my standalone.
I have not moved the .dll. Always left it at default download location.
I don’t know if the problem maybe the last update of product manager or Ez Bass?
Pete

That show 1.0.7. The pic in your other post shows 1.0.5. There has to be 2 .dlls for that to happen.
Search your computer for ezbass.dll. If there is more than 1, delete them both. Reinstall the update.

Scott,
Did what you asked and indeed there were 2 copies which I deleted and reinstalled the update.
Was then asked to delete the old version which I did through control panel.
Downloaded the update (2 gig )and installed that . EZ Bass standalone now shows (v1.06.)
It then showed there was an update:

Clicking the install button it goes through the update routine but does not update.
It seems stuck!
It now works (v1.06)in Bandlab although I still need to try audio sender and see if there are any problems with that.
Edit: This is what it shows in the standalone help about EZ Bass
EZbass plug-in version 1s.0.6 (build 25742) [64-bit VST]
Standalone host version 1.0.7 (build 26474)
SOUND LIBRARIES
EZbass Modern version 1.0.6
EZbass Vintage version 1.0.6
MIDI LIBRARIES
EZbass version 1.0.6
