Hey all!
I’m wanting to record an e-kit directly into SD3 because the editing is so much better in SD3. But if I’m recording a song and my drummer has a good take, just need to punch in the chorus, then I have to locate the spot in SD3, cut it, remove it so that I can record without hearing the old take. Is there a setting to turn off the “merge” feature in SD3 so when I punch in it’ll record over it? Otherwise my only other option is to record on my midi track in my DAW, then after we get the track we want, I have to enable record in SD3 and play the whole song again to get it in SD3. Just looking to streamline sessions and save some time. Thanks in advance!
Jason
What I usually do when I need to punch-in a part is add another track inside SD3 and do my punch there. Then cut up the original midi section on track 1 (removing the bad take) and copy in the new punch from track 2. Hope that makes sense…
