TD-27 user here (vh-10 hihat). Did you check which velocity values coming into SD3 for hihat cc? Most obvious reason could be the cc max value is set to 90 in the TD-27, which is the default value for the vh-10. In that case just do the hihat calibration in SD3.

I have done the calibration and Superior Drummer reports the cc max value as 90. Even after saving this the problem persists.

I think you need to change on the td27. It will make life easier

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

hmm thats odd its still not working… its true, SD3 receives only 90 as max value, thats why you need to hit the calibration button in the hihat settings of SD3, you then need open and close the hihat one time and SD3 will then remap the 0-90 range to 0-127.

But  yes, you can also switch the range in the TD-27 module to 127, its under trigger > hihat (my experience is that leaving the range a 0-90 works a little bit smoother with a calibrated SD3)

Changing the cc max in the td27 from 90 to 127 resolved the issue. Thanks!

It seems a new problem has popped up. The hi-hat will work correctly when played by itself but as soon as I add in another drum or play the whole kit it starts (at seemingly random but I’m not sure) to register hits at different degrees of open, despite being fully closed and the TD27 reporting it as such in the hi-hat trigger menu. However, the hi-hat control graphic in SD3 has it erratically moving up and down from the closed position at 127.  Any help would be appreciated.

All I can think is cross talk. Maybe you are putting pressure on the pedal while playing other pads?
