Hi,
I use EZdrummer in Cubase, I use the Death Metal Kit, that has double kick drum in the kit.
I edited the midi in Cubase that lays the sound of EZDrummer as a VST.
I was hearing something weird, which is that sometimes the kick channel in the Mixing console of Cubase was really high in volume level, and the rest of the time at normal level. Looking at it closely and in the EZDrummer VST Drum tab, where you see the kit, i noticed that it was happening when the two bass drums was hit at the same time. The problem is I have no control over that, in the Midi editor there is only one single bass drum kick ‘note’, which is C1, so I cannot edit to remove one of the two kicks that are happening simultaneously.
I saw online some things around ‘Alternate Hits’, but i don’t see that anywhere, i wonder if it’s only a Superior Drummer thing.
Also in the Mixer section of EZ drummer is there a way to have the two bass drums in two separate channels / output, instead of both in the same one?
Thxs,
I may not understand your problem perfectly…
That midi note will try to alternate between the two kick drums in an automatic, uncontrollable manner. I might try simply removing one of the kick drums if that works for your project by right clicking on a bass drum and selecting “none”. I typically do this, and use dynamics in my DAW if I want alternate kick drum hits to sound weaker/harder than the other.
Kick drums have no Alternate Hits, not that I’ve seen anyway. (snare/hihat/cymbals/toms have these hits for example in EZD2/SD3)
I’ve never seen two mixer channels for kick drums in EZD2. There would be no way to add one if it’s not there already. Upgrading to Superior may be a solution to this specific question.

Hello,
Thxs for your reply man.
Ok, didn’t thought of having only one bass drum… counter intuitive, but that might solve the problem.
It seems it’s possible to have two bass drums in the mixer of EZD2, look at this video at 5’18 with Metal Machine Kit, that I personally don’t have.
Hope it’s not just on some kit drums only.
But there surely a way to control the hits between two bass drums, which one the midi note kicks, anybody has a clue?
“Hope it’s not just on some kit drums only.” That is the case. By drum kit, you’re referring to the Death Metal EZX.
If it exists as you say in Metal Machine, it’s only available on a certain Metal Machine Library Preset.
The individual Library Presets determine what channels are available to mix, not the drum kit (EZX). As you load these presets, you will see the mixer configurations change in most cases.
Audition all of the Library Presets from the Death Metal EZX to see it’s available mixer configurations. What is there is what you have to work with. You can not customize it, or add a channel.
“But there surely a way to control the hits between two bass drums, which one the midi note kicks, anybody has a clue?”
I cannot guarantee the answer. But I’ll tell you this. If there was a way, I believe I would have found it by now. If you’re determined for an official answer and support doesn’t swing in here. You must submit a support ticket. In most cases they will get back to you.
