Hi
My first day with Superior Drummer 3 and I have successfully connected my Roland TD-27 module (I’m using the TD-50 preset) using a USB cable. When I play on my ekit I can hear each pad when it is hit. However the volume is very low. It is only about one third of the volume compared to when I mouse click on a drum or cymbal in the Drum Tab. It is the same when I go into the Groove tab and play any one of the available grooves, the volume is much louder.
I have looked in the mixer tab and turned up the output volume plus the volume for snare, kick etc, but while the volume does change it is still pretty quiet. The volume slider in the bottom right corner is maxed out. I looked at the parameters in the Drum tab and nothing jumped out at me.
I have assumed that this is a problem at the Superior Drummer side, but I suppose it could also be a problem with my module configuration.
I have never used any other sort of drum software so this is all new to me. I feel like it’s just a configuration thing that I’m missing. I am using a macbook pro with 10.15.6 Catalina installed.
Any help would be gratefully received and much appreciated.
Vince
Take a search round as this has come up many times. Firstly when you click on a kit piece you get a full 127 volume. You need to set up your triggers on your td27 so it triggers full velocity when you hit the pad at the point you would like it to. When setting up for SD3 or any drum sampler you need to get your trigger levels right first. The internal sounds are more compressed and more forgiving. The SD3 sounds are very dynamic compared to them
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
