Essentially, antialiasing has been turned off to make images less blurry and more crisp. You may not agree but we think it looks better and the jaggedness is in most cases hardly noticeable at a normal viewing distance. Straight lines and edges got blurred before. See picture.

Also, I’m unable to install the 1.2 sound update. No directory paths are presented

Probably the library path has ended up in the wrong plist file for some reason. A way to fix it is to remove the library path in SD3 Settings, restart SD3 and add the path again.

I’m sorry, but do you need someone to generate these for you? Bringing the UI out of 2008 is truly a one day job. I will gladly do it for you for free if you don’t have someone on staff that can take this on.

I’m astounded that the explanation of the release notes is Toontrack promoting turning anti-aliasing off as an improvement. How can you guys look at your drum graphics and the EQ band and think that’s what a program should look like in 2020? It’s obviously not a huge deal, but it is the easiest fix imaginable.

First, this isn’t possible. You can’t remove the library path of the default library within SD3. I did essentially the same thing within Product Manager yesterday and again today after your recommendation. Neither solved the issue.

If you first load a different library in SD3, it should be possible to remove the SD3 library path in SD3. Doing the same thing in PM unfortunately doesn’t fix it currently (and it’s probably what caused the issue in the first place).

Actually what I first noticed after launching it for the first time was the the entire “room” seems to have gotten larger. The kit looks a bit smaller overall but I like all the extras I can now see, like that candy bar wrapper on the floor. Totally missed that in the older version.

So, you guys turned anti-aliasing back on for the Tape Sim effect and described it as “graphics are a bit smoother now,” but when you turned it off for everything else you described it as “many graphical elements are less blurry.”

Got your copy editors working overtime instead of just fixing your graphics? Interesting.
