New Imac won’t start

So I just got a brand new Imac 2 nights ago. I downloaded superior drummer 3 and opened up files from my previously saved work from another computer and it was fine. Last night I opened up a saved file and it said plug-in doesnt work (something like that) and then started acting crazy. I restarted the computer but now it won’t restart. Just stays on the loading screen. Anyone have this issue?

What went crazy? What won’t restart? The Mac or SD3?

Hi… The iMac wouldn’t start so I called apple technical support and I ended up having to reset the computer to factory setting, so im returning it and getting a new one. Could opening files from an older version of garageband on the up to date garageband, cause the computer to be destroyed?

No. Opening up old files would not cause a computer issue as yours. Applications are pretty much sandboxed within the Mac OS. Even more so with a new Mac. Either the unit would have a flaky install, or bad hardware. All things considered, I open up 12 year old Logic files, sometimes on a continual basis, without issue.
