I made a multi-channel out from a death kit. 16 channels. (Cashes 8-9gb). Each channel has an SSL buss then various plugins where needed. Ie some fabfilter, exciter on toms, parallel bus….
Is there a way to bounce this out as my system is getting very taxed and just started tossing an over-load error (first time) if I start to add guitar plugs etc… 1024 buffer.
At this point I can bounce each channel but that doesn’t eliminate the use of Daw plugins. Just SD3. It seems I then have to recreate each channel again?
Just looking what others may do. I prefer to have SD3 open while laying in guitar etc so I can mix and change as needed. I’m using 96k.
I have 40gig ram now. Just ordered another 2×16 hoping this will help as my CPU does break 46%.
Thanks.
Logic doesn’t bounce multichannel instrument outputs by itself. What you would need to do is route your outputs to a bus (or put it in a track stack) and then set up an audio channel with that bus input and record that.
I usually don’t do that type of processing on the routings until I am ready to mix. In most recording cases I will usually use a preset in SD3 (either one of my own or if there’s something suitable within the factory presets).
