I’ve created my own midi in settings that I like. I’d like to be able to find a groove and drag it into my Logic page, but when I do, it is using the default midi settings. Is there a way to pull the groove into my Logic song and have it play according to the midi in I’ve created?

Thanked by: Larry HallAppreciate the reply. As I read my post, I don’t think I explained very well.
In the MidiIn/E settings, I’ve created my own user preset that maps the drums the way I like, just as though I had chosen, say the Addictive Drums map. I make sure the “use this preset” button is on.
Then I go to the SD3 groove tab and find a groove I like. The groove sounds perfect so I pull it into a track in Logic. But it’s hitting the notes for the default map, not my custom map. For instance, a hi-hat hit (standard midi F#1) is hitting a snare because that’s where I’ve assigned a snare hit.
So, is there a way to get the SD3 grooves to conform to my midi remap??
Hope that makes more sense than before.
Hmm. I thought the SD3 MIDI grooves don’t use your custom mapping anyway, so it shouldn’t matter if you play them back from within the DAW or inside the plugin instance. Have you tried *unchecking* the mapping preset when you playback the Logic track?

Thanked by: Larry HallWell, the issue is that I would prefer to use my custom mapping. After I import a groove I want to be able to to customize it and I have more articulations laid out in a more logical (for me) form than standard midi.
But I think you’re right – the midi grooves simply won’t use anything other than standard midi.
Hmm. I see. I actually find the Playstyle and Grid Editors inside SD3 waaay more useful than anything I can do in my DAW.
