EZXs are expansion packs that include drum sounds and MIDI performance grooves.

Drum MIDI packs are just drum performance grooves.

Have you explored the MIDI grooves in the EZD2 Browser?

No. I am still exploring and trying to understand it all. EZ drummer is quite intuitive, but still don’t get the midi expansion since I only use midi as my controller. I think I am going to purchase EZkeys today

If you really want to understand the MIDI expansions, I highly suggest spending time with MIDI grooves that you already have in the Groove browser. There are some very well played drum performances there. It’s what the expansions offer, just more specific styles and genres.

Your Midi Controller (keyboard/v-drum kit) is completely different than a Midi Pack that Toontrack is selling. If you buy a Toontrack Midi Drumpack for example, you will have more drum grooves to choose from. Another way to say it is, if you open EZDrummer2 and look on the Browser or Search Tab, there are drum grooves there. Midi Packs will expand your drum groove collection.

An EZX will not only give you more of the aforementioned grooves, but give you new sounds/drumkits as well. Which is why they cost more.

Do not buy an EZX unless you already own EZDrummer2.

Yes I already have EZ drummer2 and love it. I am also trying to purchase “EZ Keys”, but all I can find is the EZKEYS MIDI. and EZKEYS SOUND EXPANSIONS.

Every “EZ Keys Instrument” can be a separate stand alone program or an expansion. You select which you want in the drop down menu when you check out.

Ah ha, Now I understand. I am surprised that there is no B-3 organ in EZ keys. Thank you for all the information
