I have upgraded from EZdrummer 2 to Superior Drummer 3, I have several EZX expansions which I can use with SD3, I also have some SDX packs.
Can I now uninstall Ezdrummer 2 without losing the use of the EZX expansions in SD3?
I can’t see that I will use Ezdrummer 2 now that I have SD3 and it’ll free up a bit of space.
If you want to have access to the EZD2 modern and vintage kits in S3, I wouldn’t uninstall EZD2. The EZD2 plugin doesn’t take up much space so there shouldn’t be any issues just having it installed and using S3 only.
If you don’t want those 2 kits, you can uninstall EZD2 from the Toontrack Product Manager.

Okay Scott thanks. It wasn’t something I desperately needed to do, I was just musing on it. I’m keep it installed and keep those kits.
Hi all,
I have SD2 and 3. If I buy EZ Drummer expansions packs, will those work with SD3?

Older question, I know.
I am tending to hard drive maintenance and old or redundant files, and I am wondering why we have to keep an older version of EZ Drummer (2) to have access to all of the kits?
In other words, why didn’t those kits get moved to, or included in EZ Drummer 3? Seems like a hassle to have to keep extra (old version) programs and their files taking up space on a drive, when most people would assume they had all of the previous kits included in EZ Drummer 3.
Has this been remedied by now (2025), or do we just deal with a (mostly) unused old version taking up space on a drive?
I have EZ Drummer 3, SD3, and EZ Bass. I had SD2, EZ Drummer (I think) and EZ Drummer 2 as well.
And, before I uninstall SD1, is there anything from that version that will go missing or break if I do?
I would have assumed that each new version would always cover all the old features/kits/etc.
