I’m getting an error in EZ Bass Follow Host Disabled “similar MIDI from Logic Pro X and song track was detected” It wont follow Logic Pro timeline. What’s happening? I’m in Latest Logic Pro X 10.5.0 (hoping it’s not the update issue) Latest version of EZ Bass. But it sucks. I can’t follow the host, so it’s not fluid at all.

If you have the same MIDI in the Song Track of EZbass as on the song track in your DAW, and Follow Host is enabled – EZbass will play MIDI from two places in the same time. This can cause all sorts of problems, such as a chorus-y effect of the sound.

The sign you see tells you that EZbass disabled Follow Host to avoid the above described problem.

So you should decide if you want to play MIDI from your DAW or from EZbass’ song track – but not both!

Having the same exact problem. I get to a point in the song where the “Follow Host” just shuts off. I have no midi on any other track that is controlling EZBass. All midi is within EZBass.  As a test I deleted every other track in the DAW except EZBass instrument track and it still shuts off “Follow Host” at this this point. I only have one single track of bass in EZBass. It is shutting off at the 89 marker. It’s not readily obvious whats going on here…

Shutting down the DAW and reopening seemed to have fixed the issue. Might be a bug since others are reporting it.

    I also came across this

I had a good understanding exactly what it is supposed to do.

However, in my case the “similar” MIDI was in another position on the track that was playing back and I wanted to edit in EZbass while later going back to my already saved MIDI track.

We really do need a way to disable this feature if we want to. 🙂

We have fixed a bug where the Similar MIDI detection was triggered even without MIDI on the track in the DAW. It will be included in the next update.

Are you referring to 1.0.4? I’m on it and still getting the same issue. This is with no MIDI in the Ableton clip playing at all.

Turns out restarting Ableton fixed it — so I’m guessing it’s some caching issue perhaps?

It will be fixed in 1.0.5, which is currently being worked on and hopefully released soon!

My problem in 1.0.5. is very similar,  after adding a Guitar Di track-EZBass  detect the notes very good, than i add it to midi (“add Songtrack”internal in EZ Bass) to fine tune the midis – at this point the midi notes are not correctly syncs to the Project tempo changes…its frustrating to take my money for an unfinished product because in advertising everything works fine but in reality its not!

    Hi,

you know you can import Tempo Map from a MIDI file, right? Instead of just letting EZbass estimate or using the current Tempo of your host, I mean.

You export a MIDI file from your host, doesn’t matter what’s in there, it’s just to get the tempo changes and then you can import that when you have tracked the Audio.

    John
