The simplest way I’ve found is to save a curved preset and then load it in the MIDI/E-drum. It seems to hold the curve.

But yes, it would be more helpful to have that ability throughout… hopeful for implementation in a future revision.

    Hello Jord,

I have been doing this as you suggested and have saved a curved preset on the snare channel, however each time I exit and come back in, the preset disappears in the MIDI In/E-Drums section and it goes back to the “straight” velocity curve. I have to reload the “curved” preset again each time.

Is there any way that the “curved” preset can be saved in the MIDI In/E-Drums ?

    thanks, Andrew

Did you save your MIDI/E-Drum settings?

Yeah I saved as a MIDI In/E-Drums preset and also saved as a project but it still does not keep the smooth curve and I have to reload the saved (smooth) velocity curve preset each time. This still “works” but not an ideal outcome and a bit frustrating.

It doesnt look like the MIDI In/E-Drums is saving this ? thanks, Andrew

I did a “workaround” in the MIDI In/E-Drums settings and actually created a velocity “curve” with straight lines but with lots of points so it “smooths” it out – although not quite as good as smooth curve. This curve does then stay saved in my MIDI In/E-Drums setttings and pretty much gives me what I am after – I like soft and smooth ghost notes notes for low velocities and then a steep gradient to the higher velocity louder hits on my snare.

Can anyone from Toontrack condirm if this is the only way to achieve this or is there something else I am doing incorrectly. cheers, Andrew

Also I was wondering if there is any way to make property box changes so only certain velocity levels in articulations are affected.

In Midi in/Edrums setting you can just edit the velocity curve for the currently selected articulation, but the property box on the Drum tab seems to affect the entire selected instrument. I agree that it would be great if this was more consistent.

Any updates on this?  This thread is 5 years old now, and it seems like you still can’t make soft curves while editing the velocity curve in the MIDI section.  I’m wondering if this is intentional?  I’m new to all this stuff, so perhaps a soft curve is unnecessary for the MIDI section?
